This Privacy Policy describes how DrixRec ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our voice recorder mobile application, DrixRec. Your privacy is important to us. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We aim to provide a secure and user-friendly voice recording experience. All recordings and related data are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, upload, or access your recordings on any external server.

• Audio Recordings: Created by you and stored exclusively on your device's storage.

• Recording Metadata: Includes file name, duration, file size, date created, audio quality, and number of bookmarks. This is stored only on your device.

• Bookmark Information: Custom labels or descriptions you add to bookmarks are stored locally with the metadata.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Core Functionality: Audio recordings and metadata are used only for saving, listing, playing, renaming, and managing recordings on your device.

• User Preferences: Settings such as audio quality and theme are stored locally on your device.

• Haptic Feedback: Vibration is used to confirm actions like start, stop, or adding a bookmark.

3. Permissions Requested

To function correctly, DrixRec requests the following permissions:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used strictly to capture audio data when you initiate a recording.

• Storage (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used to display and play the list of your recordings. Note: We save recordings in the app's private secure storage and do not request permission to write to or modify other files on your external shared storage.

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to show the recording timer and controls (Pause/Stop) in the notification bar and lock screen while the app runs in the background.

• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE): Ensures that recording continues uninterrupted even when the app is minimized or the screen is turned off.

• Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Prevents the device from sleeping during an active recording session.

• Vibration (VIBRATE): Provides haptic feedback when you press record buttons.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

• No selling or renting: Your recordings and personal information remain on your device. We do not sell user data.

• User-Initiated Sharing: You can choose to share recordings through other apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Email). Once shared, the handling of that data is subject to the privacy policies of those third-party apps.

• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information only if required by law, though we do not have access to your locally stored recordings.

5. Data Security and Retention

• Security: All recordings and metadata are stored locally on your device. We rely on your device's built-in security features.

• Retention: Data remains on your device until you delete it. Important: Since we use private storage to comply with Android policies, uninstalling the app may delete your recordings depending on your OS version. We recommend backing up important recordings before uninstalling.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Within the app, you can:

• Access and play your recordings.

• Rename or delete recordings permanently.

• Share recordings with other applications.

7. Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or legal requirements. Changes will be posted in the app or on the Play Store listing. Please review this policy periodically.
